Dana Gluckstein

Dana Gluckstein has photographed iconic figures such as Nobel Laureates Nelson Mandela, Mikhail Gorbachev, Desmond Tutu, and Nobel Nominees, Muhammad Ali and Thich Nhat Hanh. Her photographs are in the permanent collections of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, and the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. Gluckstein’s book, DIGNITY: In Honor of the Rights of Indigenous People  is a three-time winner of the International Photography Awards, now published in an updated second edition.

Gluckstein’s exhibition, DIGNITY: Tribes in Transition, presented at the United Nations, Geneva in 2011 and has been touring European and U.S. museums ever since.  In 2013, she addressed the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland on how “art can impact the state of the world”. DIGNITY, in association with Amnesty International, helped create a turning point for President Obama to endorse the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

A graduate of Stanford University, she received a B.A. in psychology, with a background in painting and photography. Her work includes award-winning photography advertising campaigns for clients such as Apple and Toyota.
