Laughing with Liza Minnelli, Halston knew his image was of a glamorous fashion designer and he loved it. He had become the American designer who rivaled the European couturiers in elegance, style and design. Halston first made his name with the pillbox hat Jacqueline Kennedy wore to her husband’s inauguration.
