Architecture of Fashion

An The Architecture of Fashion is a photographic exhibition concentrating on three photographers that have immortalized fashion creations while producing some of the greatest photographic icons of the 20th century. George Hoyningen-Huene’s classically inspired fashion pictures of the 1920's to the 1040's set the foundation for elegant, sophisticated French style. Horst P. Horst's distilled the concepts of deco, surrealism and the Bauhaus to create photographs that were both bold in their composition and refined and seductive in their graphic style. Cathleen Naundorf concentrates on the most memorable Haute Couture creations and treats them with a painterly approach using large format cameras and Poloroid film to steep the work in a timeless, poetic framework.

The blending of the 3 photographers work spans over 80 years of modern fashion as told through the eyes of 3 creative, inventive, highly collectable photographers.
